Service Industry News - Providing Pool Service Technicians with Up To Date News and Industry Related Articles

Service Industry News is a trade publication geared solely towards the Pool Service Professional. Their tag line is, “For 30 years, The Voice of the Pool & Spa Service Professional.” Service Industry News is published every two weeks making it one of the widest circulated pool industry publication and with over 10,000 Subscribers one of the largest.

I recently talked to Carolyn Dibrell the Owner and Publisher of the Service Industry News and you can listen to the full interview in the Podcast.

One of the reason I wanted to feature the publication on my sites is that for the service professional there are so many aspects of the service business that you can miss if you are not up to date on the latest news. My sites and YouTube Channel is a great way to get some hands on tips and news but I can't begin to cover everything that happens in the industry. That is why I wanted to point you to a great resource that is also extremely affordable. Subscriptions start at the very low price of $15 per year and if you sign up for more than one year you will get one free year added to your subscription.

The resources in the newspaper every two weeks covers a wide range of topics and you also get a PDF version emailed to you every two weeks. The PDF digital edition also features direct web links to the advertisers websites which is really handy if you use your smart phone or tablet for business. The print edition is mailed to you and the format has not changed much at all in 30 years. I like using both versions and I think if you haven't subscribed yet you will enjoy getting a newspaper in the mail every two weeks. It is very “Old School” for sure but that is what gives the Service Industry News its charm.

So what kind of articles are in the publication? Articles range from pool chemistry to current events effecting those in the pool service industry. There are also listings every two weeks of all of the educational opportunities across the nation and the CPO courses are listed by state and class dates. One of my favorite sections is the “Horror File.” These are equipment photos sent in my pool services techs out on their service routes. Each photo is of an equipment pad that would make anyone cringe. Duct taped pipes, pipes going in every direction, equipment stacked on top of each other and more. It will make you chuckle and remind you that your route is not so bad after all.

I like to advertisements in the publication as they showcase new products by the industry manufacturers. This keeps me up to date with the latest cleaners and pool equipment which I otherwise would know about. I also like the smaller ads which feature individuals with pool products and helpful tools to sell to the pool service professional.

So every aspect of the Service Industry News is geared towards helping the pool service professional. From the helpful articles to the advertisements highlighting new products. If you are in the industry and not a subscriber, why not subscribe today.
