Superior Pump Sump Pumps & Utility Pumps

Superior Pump has been in business for over 15 years now with ties to the plumbing industry dating back to the 1970's. If you are in need of draining your swimming pool down, these pumps would be a great choice.

They are a family owned and operated business and offer some of the best warranties on their pumps in the industry. Depending on the pump you can get a warranty from one year up to five years on the pump. They can offer such a great warranty because they build a quality pump which will last well past the warranty period.

Some of the great features included with each pump are:

A one piece motor housing makes the pump stronger and dissipates heat with great effectiveness.

An Electronically controlled Split Capacitor is like having two gears, 1st gear is a boost for startup and then 2nd gear for efficient continuous operation.

Solid Copper Motor Windings means the wires are not just coated but 100% copper.

Exclusive Superior Motor is designed and built by Superior Pump and installed and tested so the pumps are built to last.

Double Seals on Motor Plate; dual seals on the bottom of each motor plate ensures water will not enter the motor housing causing pump failure.

Removable Intake Screen on all of their pumps allows for easy cleaning.

Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Jacket Shaft Seal ensures that this seal will last.

Superior Pump is focused on making the best pumps in the industry. So you can see you are getting a high quality product at an affordable price.
Superior Pump also test their pumps and are held to UL's standard; during the UL 18 day locked rotor test, the thermal protector has to endure a minimum of 2000 cycles and the cycle life on the thermal protectors that Superior Pump uses are rated for a minimum of 10,000 cycles.

Cord length for each pump varies from 10 ft to 25 ft depending on the pump so there is more than enough cord for using these pumps to drain a swimming pool down.

Superior Pump makes a wide variety of Sump Pumps and Utility pumps. So depending on what size pool you have or what other needs you have for it will determine which model you should purchase.

If you are a homeowner and just want to remove excess water from your pool after a rain storm then the 1/5 HP Utility Pump would get the job done. If you have a large pool or want the job done faster then investing in a 1/3 HP or ½ HP Sump Pump would be a solid idea.

These pumps are hands down the best choice for your swimming pool needs whether you are a homeowner or a pool service professional.

Aquabot Pool Rover Jr. a robotic cleaner

This is the Aquabot Pool Rover Jr. a robotic cleaner for your above ground pool. The Aqaubot  Pool Rover Jr does a great job cleaning an above ground pool and well worth looking into.

It is priced around $300 so it is an affordable way to keep your above ground pool clean, especially if you lack a suction port or have undersized pool equipment. The Pool Rover Jr works off of an external power supply and does not need to be connected to your pool to work.

It lacks some of the fancier features found on the higher priced cleaners like a top load debris chamber, a tangle free cable, a remote, brushes to scrub the bottom and a programmable timer. But really you can live without all of those for your above ground pool.

It is made specifically for an above ground pool so it rides higher off the ground to avoid getting caught on wrinkles in the liner. The rugged wide tires also will get it over any wrinkles on the bottom or any areas where the sand underneath is pilled up. It also filters down to 2 microns which is as good or better than a D.E. filter. While it is running it pumps 70 gallons per minute so it acts as a secondary filter for your pool. It also has a one year warranty.

To prevent cord tangling there is a pin in the front axle that can be moved from each front wheel area giving the Pool Rover Jr. an opposite tilt each time you run it in the pool.  This is pretty effective in preventing cable tangling.

Some of the higher priced Aquabot units come with a cord swivel to prevent the cord from tangling but for most small to medium above ground pools you should be fine with the standard cable.

The 40 ft of cable is plenty for most above ground pools. It also comes with a simple power unit which can be set for a large or small pool giving it either a two or three hour run time.

The Pool Rover Jr. will not climb the walls and it is designed to clean the bottom of the pool, which it does very well. It works in any shape above ground pool and the flat profile of the cleaner makes it ideal for above ground pools.

It only weighs 10 lbs so picking it up over the edge of a 3 ft-4 ft above ground pool is very easy.

So for the price point the Pool Rover Jr. is a great alternative for keeping your above ground pool clean. It picks up dirt as well as leaves, filters down to 2 microns and comes with a 100% one year warranty.

A great buy for your above ground pool.

Aquabot Pool Rover S2-50 Robotic Pool Cleaner for Above-Ground and Small In-Ground Pools

There are a lot of robotic cleaners on the market today and the price point of most robotic cleaners puts them out of reach of the average consumer. But Aquabot offers a variety of lower priced robotic pool cleaners that are reliable and highly effective.

This is the Aquabot AJET122 Pool Rover S2-50 Robotic Pool Cleaner for Above-Ground and Small In-Ground Pools. The Pool Rover S2-50 is a solid robotic cleaner that is priced in the suction side cleaner range.

I will start with the things it lacks for $400 which are, no remote, doesn't climb the walls to the tile line, no tangle free cord and a 1-2 hour run time.

These are things that you can live without really if you are looking in this price range. What it comes with more than makes up for what it doesn't.

First lets start with the color of this thing - the bright yellow is super cool and eye catching. It has 50 ft of cable and a cord detangler built onto the cable. It has large debris openings on the bottom, rugged tires, brushes for scrubbing the bottom a one year warranty and it filters down to 2 microns. Better than a D.E. filter.

It works really well in my testing. Eventually after the run time it gets the entire pool covered. This cleaner basically moves back and forth with the tilt of the front axle being the main way it maneuvers around the pool. It doesn't turn but changes position gradually as it is running.

I would consider this a solid entry level robotic cleaner and one that would serve a homeowner with an above ground pool or a small or medium inground pool.

I like the easy to get to debris area. Simple press down on the cover tabs and the lid comes right off. Inside are two cloth debris bags with Velcro tops that easily open up for cleaning.

The rugged tires allows it to move over main drains or other obstacles with ease. It is also very well balanced being mostly a flat cleaner so tipping over won't happen.

It will climb the walls to the slopping area but it is mainly a bottom cleaner. Aqaubot does carry robotic cleaners that will clean the walls  if you are looking for that feature.

Bottom line, for the price point this thing has plenty of great features and will get the job done.

Kreepy Krauly Sprinta Plus Suction Side Cleaner Review -Australia Only

This is the Sprinta Plus by Kreepy Krauly Australia. This cleaner is sold only in the Australian market but will soon be available in the US under the name Croc by Sprinta.

To learn more about the US version you can visit their US site:
http://crocbysprinta.com/

If you live in the Australian market the Sprinta Plus is a great suction side cleaner. It is a geared type cleaner so it won't get stuck in corners or the step areas of your pool.

I have been testing them here in the US for a couple of months now and they work great.

This is a very compact cleaner but don't be fooled by it's power. The turbine can pick up some amazing debris. It is also a very easy cleaner to use as you can see from the video.

What makes the Sprinta Plus a unique cleaner is it's combination of durability, ease of use and effectiveness all in a compact and light cleaner. The patented turbine creates a vortex effect pulling in large debris and dirt with ease. It is great for picking up dirt and large leaf debris and doesn't get jammed like other suction side cleaners.

The external gear box on top allows for trouble free operation, spinning the cleaner out of corners or the step area in your pool.

Kreepy Krauly Australia has been making automatic cleaners for over 20 years in the Australian market and the Sprinta Plus is backed by a 2 year manufacturers warranty. It is a quality product made in Australia.

This would be a great choice for a small or medium size pool. The Sprinta Plus comes with 10 meters of ultra flex hose and the skimmer adapter for easy installation.

To learn more you can visit their website: http://www.kreepykrauly.com.au/

A good solid choice for your pool in the Australian market.
