Jandy Pro Series TruClear Salt Water System Overview

The Jandy Pro Series TruClear Saltwater Chlorinator is the newest Salt Water System by Zodiac Pool Systems. The TruClear is only available from your local pool service company or pool retail store. This salt system has many great features and I will go over them in detail here in this article.

If you are looking to convert your pool to salt water or if you are having a pool built, salt water is the way to go in my opinion. With a salt water generator you eliminate the need to manually add chlorine to your pool with tablets, liquid chlorine or bags of shock. The salt water generator will make and add chlorine to your pool as it is running. Picking the right salt system for your pool is critical and I suggest comparing several manufacturer brands against each other before deciding on a system.

The TruClear has a very compact salt cell, so if you have a tight equipment area it is a solid choice over some of the much larger salt cells on the market. It only requires 16 inches of staight pipe for installation. If you already have a Jandy AquaPure Salt Cell System, they sell a retrofit version of the TruClear that will thread right into the existing plumbing for the AquaPure Cell. For the Retrofit version you would order this version:

TRUCLEAR11KU Jandy Pro Series TruClear Salt Chlorinator Kit – Retrofit (with unions)

This version has unions so swapping out your old AquaPure Cell is very simple. If you plan on doing a new install, you can just order the standard version without unions:

TRUCLEAR11K Jandy Pro Series TruClear Salt Chlorinator Kit – new construction (without unions)

Here are some of the features of the TruClear System.

Extreme reliability and simple construction using legendary Jandy NeverLube Valve material for long-term durability. The cell itself is made out of the same plastic as the Jandy Valves so it will pretty much last forever.

Simple to Inspect with a clear window on top which allows easy visual inspection of the blades. The clear top allows you to see if there is any calcium buildup on the plates without taking it apart. A great time saver and this is an important feature which will prevent loss of chlorine production due to a dirty cell.
Convenient to clean, just unscrew the cell from the body, hold unto the cord, and easily dip into the acid cleaning solution. I like this feature because you don't have to remove the entire cell body, just the lid and blades. It is very easy to unscrew and screw back in making salt cell cleaning simple.

Energy-Efficient. Works at extremely low-flow rates, so TruClear is fully compatible with any variable-speed pump. The salt system will turn on with a lower RPM then other Salt Systems, just 1725 RPM is needed. This will allow you to save money by running the pump on a lower speed and having the TruClear produce chlorine.

The TruClear is rated for a pool up to 35,000 gallons and it will produce 13 grams of chlorine every hour. Even though the cell is very compact it can work just fine in a very large pool.

The Control Panel is very user friendly and easy to operate. Setting the chlorine output is as simple as hitting the plus and minus arrow on the controller and you can easily put the unit in Stand By Mode or turn it off for Winterizing. The only thing that the system does not do is let you know the salinity level or salt level in the pool. A salt level of 3,000 ppm is needed for operation. But the exact salt level is not displayed for you so you will need salinity test strips or a digital salt tester.

The TruClear Saltwater Chlorinator has many great features that make it a top choice when you are looking to install a new salt system or replace an old outdated system. It is compact, easy to install and operate and is backed by Jandy's solid reputation as a leading manufacturer of pool equipment. To learn more you can visit Jandy directly.
