Mini Vac II Portable Filtration System Set Up and Use Video

This video covers the set up and use of the Mini Vac II Portable Filtration System. The Mini Vac II by Advantage Manufacturing is designed for the Pool Service Professional, Resort and Hotel Service Techs and for the Homeowner. It is a smaller system when compared to their PORTAVAC. But the Mini Vac II is a great choice and is loaded with some outstanding features.

The Mini Vac II is very easy to use and set up. You just wheel it out to the pool side and connect your manual vacuum hose to the front check valve and vacuum out your pool - just as if it was connected to your pool pump through the pool skimmer. Advantage makes it very easy by including a Waterway Check Valve which makes priming the pump super easy. Just remove the pump lid, fill the pump with a bucket of water, put the lid back on and turn on the pump. It will prime up right away.

Here are some troubleshooting tips on priming the pump. Make sure the gasket is in the front of the check valve before you thread it in. You can find the gasket in the bag with the operation manual. You can also use a standard 2” union o-ring on the Check Valve. Make sure your pool hose is new and does not have any air leaks. The number one priming problem is a bad pool hose. The tiniest amount of air will stop the pump from priming. When you attach the hose to the front of the pump, make sure there is no air in the hose.

One of the key aspects of the Mini Vac II is that it works separate from your pool's filtration system. Everything is picked up with the manual vacuum and the cartridge filter on top traps all of the dirt and debris down to an amazing 20 microns. So if the pool has very poor running equipment or just gets a large amount of dirt and debris each week, the Mini Vac II would be a great investment.

If you order the Mini Vac II directly from Advantage Manufacturing, use the discount code: “YouTube Portable” and save $50.00. You can order it from this link:

Here is a breakdown of some of the features for you:

100 sq. ft. Cartridge Filter
In Ground 1 HP Advantage Pump
    85 GPM flow rate
Small Cart with Go Cart Wheels
    On/Off Switch with GFCI
    35 ft. 115 Volt Cord
    Check Valve by Waterway

The unit in this video also has a valve plumbed in so that you can easily vacuum to waste. I added the fitting and vacuum hose attachment but when you order they can also add the fitting to the valve so you can use a standard 1.5” vacuum hose to vacuum to waste. This is a handy addition and it makes cleaning up a green pool or a pool with a lot of dirt and debris very quick and easy. When you move the valve to the “waste” position the filter is bypassed making for easy clean ups.

The Dolly this cart is on is smaller and more compact and this also means that it can't be hitched to the back of your truck like the PORTAVAC. But it is light enough to transport in the bed of your truck if you want to use it for pool service. I think the Mini Vac II is ideal for homeowners who have a problem pool, lots of dirt and debris each week. This will save the filtration system and extend the life of your filter and pump. The Mini Vac II would also be great to park in your equipment room if you manage a hotel or resort pool. Use it to vacuum each week and save the trouble of trying to vacuum out the pool with the typical poorly running sand filter. This will also mean less frequent backwashes to the sand filter.

The Mini Vac II is also ideal for water features and fountains that usually do not have a dedicated skimmer or vacuum port. In a matter of a minute or two, you can completely vacuum out a fountain. Very easy to use and great for any body of water that does not have a filter or a way to vacuum it out. The places you can use the Mini Vac II are innumerable.

Purchasing a Pool Route, Interview with Charles Baird CEO of National Pool Route Sales -Podcast Audio

In this Podcast I interview Charles Baird the Founder and CEO of National Pool In this Podcast I interview Charles Baird the Founder and CEO of National Pool Route Sales. This is a firm that specializes in selling pool routes to those who want to get into the pool service business. We discuss the ins and outs of purchasing a pool route and the benefits of starting a pool service this way.

To learn more about purchasing a pool route you can visit their websites directly:
bit.ly/nationalpoolroutesales- National Pool Route Sales
bit.ly/CBconsulting- Charles Baird consulting

Buying a Pool Route is much like buying a restaurant, a gas station or a coin laundry. National Pool Route Sales (NPRS) is a broker much like a business broker, but they specialize in selling pool routes. Unlike a traditional business broker that will sell you a business and then leave you to run it and succeed or fail, NPRS will come along side you to help you succeed. They have many safeguards in place to protect you after the sale and also offer you free consulting after the sale to help you grow your business.
One of the protections that they offer is that the seller will sign a non-compete clause so that he cannot go back and try to regain the accounts he just sold you. The seller also will train you and NPRS also offers a guarantee if an account is lost not due to negligence on your part. I mentioned the consulting they include with the purchase and Charles explains in the Podcast that the best way to grow your business is with the help of their consulting firm.
Purchasing a pool route is a big commitment and investment and it is one way to start your business with money coming in the door. An alternative method is working for someone and learning the business and then striking out on your own. You can also get a truck and equipment and start from scratch, but building a route can take some time depending on your area. It can be done this way successfully but many choose instead to just purchase a full or partial pool route.
Many people are reluctant to go this route because of stories they have heard about deals that have gone bad. NPRS is a licensed broker and operates on the same principles as a business broker. The sale is handled through an escrow service and the contracts are legal and binding. This is very different then when you purchase a pool route directly from a pool guy or from an unlicensed company. In those cases there are no safety nets and sometimes those deals can turn out to be very bad.
I personally do not endorse one method over another. I want to give my audience a chance to see every aspect of starting a pool business and purchasing an established pool route through a reputable and licensed broker is a good way to get started. If you wanted to get into the restaurant business you certainly can lease a location and start your business from scratch. It may take you awhile to build up your clientele and your belt may get a bit tight, but it can be done. Or you can by a Burger King that is already making money and step right in and take it over.
I think it boils down to preference in which way you want to get started in the pool business. Charles will go over in detail how NPRS can get you started in the business and he answers many questions regarding purchasing a pool route.

Riptide SL Pool Vacuum System Set Up

The Riptide SL and Service Cart comes factory shipped with the main parts un-assembled. This is due to shipping rates. To keep the shipping and handling at $50 for anywhere in the Continental US, it must be shipped this way. Fortunately setting up the cart is very easy and should take only about 45 minutes. The Riptide SL is well worth it and I go over the assembly in this video for you.

If you live in Florida anywhere near their warehouse you can swing by and pick up a completely assembled unit and they will also help you mount the transport rack onto your truck. Here is their address:

Service Industry Solutions LLC
Riptide Pool Vacuum Systems
2000 Avenue P
Suite# 9
Riviera Beach, FL 33404

Note that the battery and battery charger are sold separately. You can use various sizes of batteries, the one shown here is the maximum size you can use, a 100 AH battery. It is also the largest size by dimensions that you can fit in the SL cart: 12.9 inches long, 8.7 inches high and 6.8 inches in depth. Anything longer or higher than this will not fit in the SL Cart. I suggest a 50 AH battery or even a 35 AH battery to make the cart lighter. With the 100 AH battery it adds 60 lbs to the cart weight. A 35 AH battery will weigh only 23 lbs. It can be adjusted for any size AH battery, 35 AH to 100 AH, with the orange battery tabs.

One of the keys of the set up is that due to how the switch is manufactured you don't know which wire coming out of the plug is the negative or which is the positive until you connect it to the battery terminals. It is easy to test however as the Riptide propeller MUST SPIN COUNTER CLOCKWISE. If you turn it on after connecting the wires to the battery terminal and it spins CLOCKWISE you will need to reverse the wires on the terminals. If it spins COUNTER CLOCKWISE after connecting the wires you are good to go.

I will cover the transport rack installation in another video for you.
The Riptide Vacuum System can also be purchased without a Service Cart and it is sold with just a stand alone vacuum head and Battery Box. This is a great option if you are a pool service professional and don't need or want the cart or if you are a homeowner who just need the vacuum without the cart. The current price for the vacuum head and Battery Box is $850.00.

To order or learn more you can go directly to their website: http://www.riptidevac.com

The Riptide Vacuum System is an essential tool if you service pools that get destroyed by the winds or work in an area where the pools get a lot of large debris all season long. The 35 AH battery for the Battery Box should last around 3 hours of continuous use before charging (although the manufacturer says you can get 7-8 hours with the 35 AH battery in their testing).

The cart features large rugged rubber wheels that are ideal for rough yards and step areas. This is a very light weight cart and even with the 60 lb. Battery in the bottom, the wheels make it effortless to pull the cart over any terrain. It is also very well balanced and even pulling it up hills it is very steady. The handle on top is adjustable, so you can turn it at an angle for different heights, making it even easier to pull.

You can learn more about the SL cart directly from their website here: https://www.riptidevac.com/products/riptide-sl-pool-vacuum

Riptide Battery Box: Riptide SL Optional Accessory or Stand Alone Purchase with Vacuum Head

The Riptide Vacuum System can be purchased without a Service Cart and it is sold with just a stand alone vacuum head and Battery Box. This is a great option if you are a pool service professional and don't need or want the cart or if you are a homeowner who just need the vacuum without the cart. The current price for the vacuum head and Battery Box is $850.00.

To order or learn more you can go directly to their website: http://www.riptidevac.com

The Battery Box would also be a great idea if you have the Riptide SL service cart. With the Battery Box this will make the vacuum portable for those accounts where cart access is not possible. Simply take the vacuum off the cart and carry it back with the Battery Box. The Battery Box can only be used with the SL cart and cannot be used with the Commercial Cart since that one is hard wired in. The cord on the SL Vacuum is designed to be plugged into the SL Service Cart or the Battery Box.

It will have the same vacuuming power and work exactly the same except for not having the cart. The Riptide vacuum uses a 30 Lbs thrust motor to spin a propeller on top and suck large debris into the large debris bag on top.

Here is some more about the Riptide SL cart if you decide to go that way verses just the vacuum head and Battery Box. The Riptide SL cart comes loaded with some great features which I will touch on briefly here. One of the things I really like is the dedicated plug on the cart itself. The Vacuum Cord plugs right into the cart and the plug is very well made and actually holds the cord in even if you tug really hard on t while vacuuming a pool. Right above the plug is the easy to reach on/off switch. The ease of use of the Riptide SL makes this an ideal Vacuum System for you. Simply connect your pole to the Riptide Vacuum head, uncoil the cord from the top, plug it in, drop the vacuum in the pool and turn it on.

The cart also features large rugged rubber wheels that are ideal for rough yards and step areas. This is a very light weight cart and even with the 60 lb. Riptide Pool Vacuum System Explained - Podcast Interview with Matt Lopez VP of Riptide

In this Podcast I interview Matt Lopez the Vice President of Riptide Pool Vacuum System. He goes over in detail what the Riptide Vacuum is and how it can benefit pool service professionals. He also touches on the the Battery Box version for homeowners who want a system of their own.

I meet Matt & Dave when they came out to California for the Western Pool Show. They are committed to bringing the best product to the market and will go out of their way to make every customer 100% satisfied.

These Vacuum Systems are essential for anyone who wants to save time and effort out in the field. The time and energy savings alone are worth the investment. For a homeowner who has a pool with constant large debris week to week this would be a solid investment vs a Robotic Pool Cleaner.

The Riptide Vacuum System is an essential tool if you service pools that get destroyed by the winds or work in an area where the pools get a lot of large debris all season long. For the homeowner or service tech who doesn't want or need the SL cart, you can now order the Riptide Vacuum Head with just a Battery Box. It will work exactly the same as far as vacuuming power, but the time between charges will be shorter. The 35 AH battery for the Battery Box should last around 3 hours of continuous use before charging.

The SL Cart can hold up to a class 27 100 AH battery which gives you about 6-8 hours of vacuuming time with the Riptide.

Mini Vac II Portable Pool Vacuum System by Advantage Manufacturing

The Mini Vac II by Advantage Manufacturing is a Portable Filtration System designed for the Pool Service Professional, Resort and Hotel Service Techs and for the Homeowner. It is a smaller system when compared to their PORTAVAC. But the Mini Vac II is a great choice and is loaded with some outstanding features.

Although this system is smaller than the PORTAVAC it is powered by a 1 HP pump with a flow rate of 85 gallons per minute. The cartridge filter on top is very large also coming in at 100 sq ft. When I say it is a compact system it is still very powerful and versatile.

The unit in this video also has a valve plumbed in so that you can easily vacuum to waste. I added the fitting and vacuum hose attachment but when you order they can also add the fitting to the valve so you can use a standard 1.5” vacuum hose to vacuum to waste. In fact any unit can be custom built for you. Want a 150 sq ft cartridge on top? They can do that for you. Or want a ¾ hp pump? They can also make it to your specifications. Need a 100 ft cord? They can do that also. For sure I would have them add the valve to vacuum to waste, a great feature.

The Check Valve for the front is a great touch. This makes priming super easy. There is a flat seal located in the bag with the instructions that you insert between the front of the pump and the check valve as you thread it in. You can also purchase a standard 2” Union O-ring and keep it in the check valve on a permanent basis. I also suggest using a new vacuum hose to insure a tight water seal. But the check valve will make priming simple, just fill up the pump with water, put the lid back on and turn it on. It should prime instantly.

The Dolly this cart is on is smaller and more compact and this also means that it can't be hitched to the back of your truck like the PORTAVAC. But it is light enough to transport in the bed of your truck if you want to use it for pool service. I think the Mini Vac II is ideal for homeowners who have a problem pool; lots of dirt and debris each week.

SolaSkimmer Solar-powered Swimming Pool Skimmer

This is the SolaSkimmer Solar-Powered Surface Skimmer by Remington Solar. The SolaSkimmer is very effective and the best part is that the MSRP is $399.00. This makes the SolaSkimmer the most affordable Solar-Powered Skimmer on the market today.

Here are some of the features of the SolaSkimmer:

Uses 110V charger or the Sun to charge the cleaner
Requires about 4 hours of full Sun per day yo run in Solar only
Operates for about 8 hours per day on a full charge
Designed to run from Dawn to Dusk
Large debris tray on bottom (equivalent to about a one gallon trash can)
Battery indicator lights
Easy one button operation
4 infrared sensors that detect corners and sides
Water jet to turn cleaner away from pool sides and corners
UV Resistant PVC
Nice light gray color scheme
Weighs just 17 lbs
Easy to insert and remove from the pool
12 month warranty

Remington Solar is a leading manufacturer of Solar Products. They manufacturer Solar Attic Fans as well as the Solar Sun Shock Pool Ionizer that I have reviewed also on my Channel.

Remington Solar Chlorine-Free “Sun Shock” - For an Algae Free Pool: https://youtu.be/v5bW6RC9udI

The SolaSkimmer is design to be very simple and basic. There are no apps that control it and the design is overall very simple. The two paddles rotate in the water and move the cleaner along and debris is drawn in and is trapped by the debris tray along the bottom. Simple yet very effective. This design allows the SolaSkimmer to move very slowly around your pool making it highly effective in picking up the tiniest of debris. It will trap very small bugs like ants as well as pick up large leaf debris.

I like the simple design of this cleaner. As it approaches a corner or a pool edge the infrared sensors will detect the edge and a jet in front will activate. This jet of water will spin the cleaner and thus keeping it from getting stuck. I found that these sensors were very effective in detecting the pool edge and the cleaner did not get stuck anywhere in the pools I tested it in.
It is better to run the SolaSkimmer with the pool pump off. This will prevent the cleaner from getting hung up in the skimmer as the pump draws water in. This will also allow you to maximize your pools skimming time as the cleaner will skim the pool all day and you can run the pump at night to continue skimming with the pool's skimmer. If you have a variable speed pump the SolarSkimmer will allow you to run your pump at a lower speed for longer periods of time and will help reduce your energy cost.

The gray color scheme is also very nice and will be perfect for those pools with darker colored plaster. It is also very easy to put in your pool and remove from the pool when you want to go swimming. To start the cleaner just hit the very simple silver button. This button will also turn the cleaner off. The gray color scheme is also very nice and will be perfect for those pools with darker colored plaster.

It only takes about 4 hours of direct Sunlight to fully charge the SolaSkimmer or if you like you can plug it in and charge it. I think it is a great option to be able to charge the cleaner on cloudy days or those long Winter days without sunshine. This is also a great option f your pool remains in the shade most of the day.

Bottom line, this is a great affordable Solar-Powered pool surface cleaner that you will be very happy with. You can purchase it directly from their website or from Costco.com.

Portable Filtration Systems by Advantage - Podcast Interview w/ Lyann & Josh

In this Podcast I interview Lyann Courant the CEO of Advantage Manufacturing and Josh Hall the VP of Operations. We discuss their Portable Filtration Systems, Advantage's pumps & motors and their new UV System.

Listen to the Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/110832/550180-episode-6-advantage-manufacturing-portable-filtration-systems-interview-with-lyann-josh

Lyann focuses on the fact the Portable filtration Systems differ from the Pool Vacuum Systems in many ways. First the Portable Filtration Systems will filter down to at least 20 microns and everything it filters out is trapped in the cartridge filter on top of the dolly.  The Pool Vacuum Systems use bags on top and only filter down to about 60 microns. The difference is pretty huge. 20 microns is about the size of mold spores and 60 microns is about the width of a human hair.

To learn more watch this video on the differences - Pool Vacuum Systems & Portable Filtration Systems: https://youtu.be/Nhkpv_X4XtA

The Portable Filtration Systems will help keep your pool safe and healthy to swim in and has great applications for Commercial pool service accounts. It is also great for the homeowner who gets a lot of dirt in their pools each week.

Advantage Manufacturing is located in Santa Ana California. I stopped by to pick up the PORTAVAC portable filtration system and decided to also film the facility. Advantage Manufacturing is a small company that makes portable filtration systems as well as pumps, motors, booster pumps, spa pumps, pond pumps and filters and much more.

I like the fact that Advantage Manufacturing is a family owned and operated company which means the owner is very involved in the day to day operation of the business. They can offer you hands on customer support and service and keep the quality of the products at the highest standard. Like any company they stand behind their products with a standard one year warranty on all of their products.

Pool Vacuum Systems & Portable Filtration Systems

I will be discussing the differences between the Pool Vacuum Systems and the Portable Filtration Systems that I use on my pool route. These systems are designed to save you time and energy and to make your day a lot easier. Below will be a description of each system for you.

The Pool Vacuum Systems are designed to pick up very large leaf debris very rapidly. There are several on the market, but the two that I use and really like are the Power Vac & the Riptide. Basically they use a 30 lb. thrust motor to spin a propeller type blade on top and the force of the motor picks up just about everything on the bottom of a pool. To give you an idea of how powerful the motors are on these systems, a 30 lb. motor can power a small boat.

All of the debris will be trapped in the large bag on top of the vacuum. The bags will also trap dirt down to about 100 microns and the Power Vac has a bag that traps down to 60 microns, the Riptide a 75 micron bag. To give you an idea what size a 100 microns is, a human hair is about 100 microns wide. So a 100 micron particle is tiny, but some dust will still pass thru the bags with these Systems.

They are powered by a Deep Cycle AH battery that is attached to the cart. Both Power Vac and Riptide make a unit with a battery case so you can use these without a cart if needed. This is a great option for the homeowner or hotel/resort manager who just needs the system for one pool. Depending on the battery size you can get hours of use between charges. With a 100AH battery you can vacuum for 8 hours and with the 35AH battery that will go into the battery case, about 3 hours of vacuuming time.

I like these systems because they operate separate from the pools filtration system which means all of the dirt and debris will not enter the pump or filter keeping the pool system clean. These are also a great time saver as they pick up piles of very large debris very rapidly. For the time and energy savings alone, these systems are worth the investment.

You can also connect these units onto the back of your truck with the included transport rack. I would highly recommend a pool Vacuum System, especially if your area has a lot of leaf debris and wind. Once you use one you will wonder how you ever survived without it.

The Portable Filtration Systems are just what the name implies. These are basically your pool pump and filter on a dolly that you can wheel out to the deck and use to vacuum out a pool. You would simply wheel this out to the pool side, plug it in and manually vacuum out your pool just as if you were using the pool filtration system.

Since the Portable Filtration Systems are self contained, they work independently from your pool filter and pump. All of the dirt and debris will be trapped in the cartridge filter on top. This cartridge filter will filter dirt down to 20 microns. To give you and idea how small 20 microns is, Pollen is 30-50 microns in size. So these systems will trap very fine particles while you vacuum and leave your pool spotless.

Featured here are the PORTAVAC and the Mini Vac II by Advantage Manufacturing. These are hand made here in the USA in Santa Ana California. I have personally toured the facility and saw first hand the filters and dolly being welded and built. This is the premiere Portable Filtration System that comes equipped with a portable GFI, water proof on/off switch and the ability to order one custom made to your needs. Want a 1.5 hp pump on the Mini Vac II or a 100 sq. ft. filter on the PORTAVAC, they can do it. It comes with 35 feet of cord but they can customize one for you with 100 feet of cord if you like.

These are a great way to clean a pool with poor running equipment, pools that get a lot of dirt week to week, pool start ups, pool clean ups, hotel and resort pools and many more great applications.

I also wanted to show you the Pool Service Cart. This can be used to transport all of your manual vacuuming equipment and chemicals back to a service account. It also connects to the back of your truck with a hitch. At the minimum I suggest investing in one of these service carts. Although it uses the pools existing filtration system is it a great time and energy saver and makes your day faster and easier. You can learn more about Pool Service Carts here:

Pool RX Explained - Podcast Interview with Fred Schweer of PoolRx

In this Podcast I interview Fred Schweer of PoolRx and he discusses in detail what exactly is PoolRx and how it can benefit you as a pool owner or pool service professional. He covers the uses of PoolRx, how it eliminates algae and frees up your chlorine and goes over some cautions when using the product.

PoolRx Overview and Use Video: Eliminates and Prevents all Algae: https://youtu.be/vYodIg3hu8g
PoolRx will Solve: Algae Every Week, Constant Low Chlorine Levels, High Phosphates: https://youtu.be/LA7HZ_nIQcA

PoolRx is a Mineral Technology does two very simple things when used in your pool or spa; it eliminates all algae and will allow you to use less chlorine during the pool season. The active ingredient is Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate (chelated).

What Chelated means is that the metals in the PoolRx have been bonded to form two coordinated bonds similar to what Metal Sequestering Agents do. This means that the Metal Ions will remain in the PoolRx unit with no metal ions being introduced into the pool or spa water. PoolRx is Chelated so the metal ions stay within the PoolRx unit itself.

Make sure that you choose the right size PoolRX unit so that the treatment will be effective. You can place it either in your skimmer or pump basket. When you first insert the unit run your pool for 3-4 hours. Then run it the normal cycle to get at least one full cycle of water from the pool, into the filter and back into the pool again. The PoolRx unit should last 4-6 months.

PoolRx eliminates all algae fast. Even micro algae that you can't see but uses up the chlorine in your pool.

It works effectively in old water that has high TDS, high CYA and high Phosphate levels as well as in new water. See the cautions below if you are using PoolRX with high CYA levels see the caution below. It doesn't matter if your Phosphate level is 10,000, PoolRx will prevent algae growth no matter the Phosphate levels.

PoolRx is ideal for a salt water pools also. It will extend the life of your salt cell as you run the system at a lower output while PoolRx is present in the pool, typically 50% less output. PoolRx minerals also include a de-scaler that will prevent scale from attaching to the salt cell meaning less cleaning of the cell is needed. Also since it is generating less, the pH won't rise as high requiring less acid to be added to the pool.

PoolRx is compatible with just about every product. However, don’t use with copper based algaecides, sodium bromide or bromine. If using with Cal-Hypo, dilute first before adding to pool. I suggest you avoid Cal-Hypo entirely when using PoolRx in your pool.

PoolRx uses proprietary chelating agent that prevents fall out and staining due to pH fluctuation or over oxidation. This means PoolRx is very stable and effective in some of the worst water possible and toughest pool conditions, but there are limits to any product.

Keep your pool in normal chemistry ranges. The recommended range is:
Chlorine 0.5-1.0 ppm
pH 7.2-7.8
Alkalinity 80-120
Cyanuric Acid 10-80

High CYA
If your CYA is above 100, be sure to do an “adjusted alkalinity calculation”. And keep your pH and Alkalinity in normal ranges. PoolRx works in extreme environments with high TDS and where CYA is 150-200+. However, understand that if your CYA is at a saturation point, and water gets out of balance, the CYA can come out of solution. If it does this, the CYA can coagulate the PoolRx minerals, which combined, will show up as a purple dust in the pool. This dust can be brushed up but won’t go away until you reduce CYA levels in the water. Or dust will stick to the scale build up on the surface. Once the CYA levels drop to normal levels the Purple dust will disappear.

Existing copper in water
If you think you have existing copper in your water, from old copper plumbing or an old copper heat exchange that has been leaching copper in the water, or from cheap non chelated copper algaecides, or well water, test for copper first before using PoolRx. You can take a water sample to your local pool store or get some Copper test strips, they actually work pretty well.

If you have under .02ppm of copper in the water, it is OK to use PoolRx. If your copper test reads higher than .02ppm, we recommend using CuLator. Unlike a sequestering agent that only hold metals in solution, CuLator physically pulls metals out of the water. Test every 4-6 months. To learn more about Culator and getting rid of Metals in your pool water see this playlist for a series of videos:

Metal in Your Pool Water:

High TDS, High CYA, overdosing.
If the water is saturated with TDS and CYA or you over dose, the PoolRx minerals won’t have any room to dissolve into solution in the water and will stay in granular form. If this happens the minerals may have to be vacuumed up, and or, they can stick to the scale build up on the surface. If this happens, vac, dilute and get rid of scale. It is important to know your correct pool size so that you get the right size PoolRx unit for your pool.
