Why the FlowVis Flow Meter is the Best Investment you can Make for Your Swimming Pool
The FlowVis Flow Meter is a
revolutionary flow meter for your swimming pool. A flow meter is a
device used to measure the amount of water passing through your pools
filtration system, usually measured in Gallons Per Minute GPM) here
in the US and Liters Per Minute (LPM) in other parts of the world.
Knowing you pool's exact flow rate is important if you want to
maximize your energy savings and set your pool to run less each day.
Basically you need to get one cycle of
water through your pool's filtration system each day. This is all of
the water in the pool passing through the pool filter and then back
out into the pool again. This will ensure that any bacteria or
viruses are filtered out and this also makes sure the pool water
stays clear and balanced. Running your pool less than one cycle per
day could mean cloudy water and possibly unsafe swimming conditions.
Running your pool longer than needed will result in wasted energy and
a higher electric bill every month. So setting your pool to run just
one cycle each day is optimal. Without a flow meter you are just
guessing and estimating your pool's run time. With a flow meter you
will get an exact number which in turn will allow you to save money
each month and have a safe to swim pool everyday.
The FlowVis Flow Meter is an ideal
product if you have a variable speed pump and want to maximize your
energy savings. The FlowVis will give you the exact flow rate of your
pool water so that you can set your Variable Speed Pump (VS Pump)
RPM to the desired run time to get one cycle of water through your
filter and back into your pool each day. Because the different RPM
settings will allow more or less water to flow through the filter
depending on the setting, it is really very difficult to just
estimate the amount of flow at each RPM accurately. So the FlowVis
Flow Meter will take the guess work out of setting your VS Pump.
The FlowVis is fairly easy to install
and does not require any particular length of straight pipe in front
or behind it. It can be installed anywhere on your equipment plumbing
except directly in front of an In-Line 3” Tablet Chlorinator. So
finding the perfect spot for the FlowVis on your pool equipment is
very easy – you can pretty much install it wherever you have the
space. They also sell a Retro-Fit kit that will screw right in the
where your existing Jandy, Hayward or Praher Check Valve sits. Simply
remove the screws and the Check Valve face and insert the FlowVis
Retro-Fit right into that spot. It couldn't be easier and the FlowVis
will act in the exact same way as the Check Valve you removed. It is
designed as dual purpose product, it checks the pool flow and will
close just like a Check Valve when the pool turns off.
