Pool Blaster Battery Operated Volt FX-2 Pool and Spa Vacuum by Water Tech
In this article I go over the Water
Tech Pool Blaster Volt FX-2. The Volt FX-2 is only sold at your
local brick and mortar pool store and is not sold online. The Volt
FX-2 would be great for your spa, kiddy pool or small above ground
pool.
Over 600 retail pool stores carry the
Volt FX-2 so finding it shouldn't be a problem. The FX-2 has plenty
of vacuuming power and will easily pick up dirt and debris. It also
comes with 2 fine mesh filter inserts for finer dust and silt. The
Volt FX-2 also now comes with a new 2 year limited warranty.
I really like the Pool Blaster cleaners
and use them everyday on my pool route. Currently I carry the Pool
Blaster CG and the Pool Blaster Max HD in my truck and use them in
spas, water features and to spot vacuum pools. My Pool Blaster Max CG
is over 2 years old and still working fine. It is all in the proper
care of the unit.
Care for the FX-2 is pretty simple. You
will want to drain it completely after each use and I also suggest
unscrewing it all the way often and using silicone lube on the O-Ring
so that the battery area has a tight water seal, and lubing it up
will prevent it from locking up on you. As calcium forms in the
threads it can make it hard to turn the unit on and off – so proper
lubing of the FX-2 is essential. I like the Aladdin Magic Lube II and
the tube appears in the video also.
Some of the nice features of the FX-2:
Large
8.5” cleaning path
weighs
only 2 lbs
Attaches
to a standard pool pole
Excellent
vacuuming power
Easy
to use
2
year limited warranty
As mentioned, it is a retail pool store
only vacuum so you will have to get in your car and pick it up, which
is a not a bad thing. By shopping at your local pool store you are
helping your local economy and helping out your neighbors who work in
the store. To honor your choice to shop retail verses online, Water
Tech will extend the warranty from one year to two years.
I would recommend the FX-2 for you spa,
small above ground pool and Kiddy pool. It takes 5 “D” batteries
so the life and run time are dependent on how often you use the FX-2.
Too me the only downside of the FX-2 is that it is not rechargeable –
but you can always invest in rechargeable “D” batteries.
Overall you will be pleased with the
cleaning ability of the FX-2. It is far superior to the Spa Wands on
the market and with the two year limited warranty it is a safe
investment for your spa or small above ground pool.
So if you are looking for a compact,
effective and reliable battery powered vacuum check out the Volt
FX-2. I also have reviewed several other Pool Blaster products over
the last 2 years.
