Aiper Scuba S1 Pro Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner
The Aiper Scuba S1 Pro is a solid entry into the top-tier robotic pool cleaner category by Aiper. Some notable improvements are that the cleaner is not stuck on main drains like their previous model, the Seagull Pro I previously reviewed. It also has a sealed charging port, so there are no more worries about water getting into the motor and shortening out the cleaner.
Currently, the cleaner is most suited for a rectangle or square pool with this Firmware version, which comes with V 1.0.0. I think a Free-Form pool still needs some work on the programmed cleaning pattern.
This cleaner comes in five modes.
Auto: Floors & Walls
Floors Only
Waterline Only
Eco will run for 45 minutes on the floors only, turn off for two days, then run again for 45 minutes, and turn off for two more days until the battery is exhausted in about a week.
Wall Only: This is only accessible in the App.
I am not a big fan of the "Auto" cleaning pattern for the floors and walls. The cleaner will do the walls around the pool for about 1 hour and then switch to floor-only mode. I prefer cleaners that go up one wall, do the floor, and then go up another. However, a "Floor Only" mode works well (again in Free-Form Pool, which is imperfect with this Firmware V 1.0.0).
The Waterline mode is suitable, and the cleaner should be able to clean the entire waterline in 3 hours.
Even with the 3-hour battery life, I would still not use any current cordless cleaner in a pool more significant than 15,000 gallons or a 15' x 30' foot pool. The cleaning pattern is designed for a small to medium pool.
The filter canister is enormous, and you will like how much debris it picks up. The opening on the bottom is massive, so this can even pick up full-size acorns. With the 3-micron screen in front of the water discharge, this cleaner would be perfect for pools with leaf debris and fine dirt. It's a steep up since most of these only filter down to 150 microns, and 3 microns is about what a D.E. Filter will filter down to.
Here are some features from the manufacturer:
Premium Cleaning & Performance: Engineered with dual active PVC rollers and a quad-brushless motor system, the Scuba S1 Pro dedicates more power to scrubbing and suction than ever before.
Industry-leading Horizontal Waterline Cleaning: Unlike other pool cleaners, the Scuba S1 Pro vacuum for inground pools utilizes an industry-leading waterline cleaning mode called WaveLine Technology. This new tech effectively scrubs up to 99% of the oily, limescale, and algae material along your pool waterline.
WavePath Navigation
technology 2.0: Leveraging Aiper's cutting-edge technology, the Scuba S1 Pro increases cleaning coverage by 99% compared to other pool vacuums. Top-of-the-line sensors pinpoint the device's location within your pool to deliver the most complete cleaning for your pool's floor, walls, and waterline.
Dual Filter Cleaning: A huge 1-gallon, 180-micron primary filter and 3-micron secondary filter collect dirt and debris that even the naked eye can't see, improving the water purity in your pool and protecting you from unseen health threats. Cleanup is simple: open the lid, remove the filters, and rinse.
4+1 Cleaning Modes: The Aiper Scuba S1 Pro offers five cleaning modes, including Auto, Eco, Waterline, Floor-only, and Wall-only.
Use with Ease: The Aiper Scuba S1 Pro is your ideal choice for in-ground pools up to 2,150 sq. ft. Once fully charged, the Scuba S1 Pro delivers 180 minutes of cleaning excellence, including round, kidney, rectangle, or uniquely shaped pools constructed with vinyl, concrete, tile, or fiberglass.
