Power Vac Filter Bags (also fits Hammer-Head Vac)

In this article I go over the various filter bags for the Power Vac Professional Vacuum. The Power Vac is a powerful battery powered portable vacuum for use in pools with large amounts of debris, where a traditional manual vacuum would not be of any use. Power Vac makes a variety of filter bags and I go over the different bags in the video.

When you order a Power Vac unit it comes with two bags, the Super Fine Mesh Bag and the Heavy Duty Bag. In most cases these will be the only bags you will need for everyday use.

PV2100 & PV2500:
These two Power Vac models are for residential use. They have a smaller diameter and throat opening and use the bags with the item #D2100.

The PV2100 is the preferred model for most pool service technicians. You can use it with a portable 12V 35AH battery or purchase it mounted on a service cart. The PV2500 is designed for fountain use and only needs 6” of water to work. The only drawback with the PV2500 is that it has no shield so when you remove it from pool use you have to tilt it to prevent debris from falling out. It also does not come with an option to purchase it with a cart. So the PV2500 is strictly for fountain and water feature use. You can also get a 15” long Super Fine Mesh Bag (019-D2500) and a 15” long Heavy Duty Bag (022-D2500) for the PV2500.

They make a variety of bags for the PV2100 and you may find a need for one of the other bags on your pool route. I will go over each bag later.

PV2200, PV3000 and Hammer-Head Vacs:

The PV2200 and PV3000 are designed for Commercial pool use. The PV2200 features a large 8” throat  and you can also get it with 60 feet of cord verses the standard 40 feet. The PV3000 is a monster of a vacuum. It also features an 8” throat but has a 40” wide cleaning path (double the standard Power Vac). You can also order it with 75 feet of cord. The filter bags for both the PV2200 & PV3000 are the bags with the item #D2200.

If you are using a Hammer-Head Vac the bags with the item #D2200 will also work on your vacuum. You will find the Power Vac bags more versatile and easy to use.

Here are the bag types available:

Super Fine Mesh Bag 26”: This bag is good for leaves, twigs, sand, fine sand, hair
Heavy Duty Bag 26” & 42”:  Leaves, Twigs, Glass, Rocks, Sand
Screen Bag 26” & 42”: Leaves, Twigs, Rocks, Algae
Micron Bag 26”: Sand, Fine Sand, Hair, D.E.

The 42” bags are truly monstrous and if you service an area where the pools really get trashed by the winds this bag is for you. The capacity seems endless.

The bags should last 2-4 months under normal use.

To care for the filter bags:
Empty the bags after each use
At the end of the day wash the filter bag to keep chemicals off the fabric.
Avoid debris that can damage a particular filter bag.
